Diminished Human Interaction is a Precursor to Security Threats

What is your phone number, area code first please?

You’d be surprised how most people do not know what their own phone number, or the number to their family, friends or employer is. What’s even more alarming, is this fear that many people apparently have with words and numbers.

I’m serious.

PASSWORDS

Somehow, having to make up a dozen letters AND a number AND a symbol is enough to drive the average computer user insane! So many passwords, to all of these accounts is overwhelming for some. Heaven forbid a phone number is also required, and disinterested end-users may just turn incredible Hulk like.

All jokes aside, these same people often have a super friendly, borderline unhealthy, obsessive relationship with their technical devices- particularly their phone. Tricked into believing that a text message or a viral social medial post is organic socializing when it actually isn’t. What we’re really into, is having artificial conversations with chat boxes and virtual computers, which puts all of us at risk. Every time you use your phone, you put yourself at risk, especially if your devices are not secured. Strong passwords help to secure not only the device itself, but all of information contained and/or accessed on it.

EVERYDAY SECURITY THREATS

People aren’t really afraid of Artificial Intelligence- this is an absurd suggestion considering it is used everyday for almost every task known to mankind.

How many hours per day, do you spend in front of a TV screen, mobile device or computer?

How Much Time Do You Spend ONLINE Each Day?

  • Less than an HR

  • More than 4 Hours

  • 8 Hours or More

  • I don't go online unless its for work

The combination of simulation and perceived intellect is alluring, trendy and good for both business and our fragile ego's. In today’s times, the lines between being entertained and being informed are blurred, confusing the need for sincere human interaction. Some have reduced reality to a green screen, computer graphics or virtual body count. No wonder verbal communication and stuff like letters, numbers and symbols are so hard! Building human connections cultivates an environment of trust and peace. When technology malfunctions or fails, we will need human, social and networking skills to survive.

What is your phone number again, area code first please?

I’ll wait while you ask your phone.
