Tales of the Dragon

Writer: Rosey Denise Rosey Denise

There isn't a shread of truth in him.

That's what the Bible says about this great serpent. Not only is he a liar, but he is called the father of lies! In other words not only does he lie, but he is also very good at it!

... He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies...
John 8:44

How do we recognize the truth from a lie? According to the Bible, the truth produces evidence- information or facts are key in deciphering a falsehood. Popular opinions are not necessarily "facts", no matter how sweet it sounds. Your enemies are not always liars. Just as your friends don't always tell you the truth. It is important to remind yourself that the adversary is a master of lies! He has the ability to make lies seem like truth, and the truth seem like a lie.

The ONLY thing Satan comes for is to steal, kill AND destroy. He uses many forms of manipulation to steal your hope and peace. He comes to kill your faith, your vision... to destroy your confidence and discourage you! He wants to kill your reputation, steal your joy, destroy your relationship with The Creator and rip apart your soul! Although he hates you, he doesn't always show up yelling & shouting terrible things at you. If he attacked us in this way, then it would easy to recognize and avoid. Instead this draco is shrouded in confusion, controversy and malarkey.

The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray
Revelation 12:9

It is our responsibility as both believers, and lay folk to not only accept the truth but to discern it. If you are paying attention, the truth is currently under assault everywhere you look! But do not fear! Do not be easily swayed by popular opinions, stereotypes, stigmas OR convenient mistruths. Challenge yourself by being honest about these questions:

Who or What influences YOU... and WHY?

Without good direction, people lose their way; the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances
Proverbs 11:14

Become so confident in what you seek to accomplish in the Lord, that you refuse to be deterred by fear, hate, rejection...or LIES.
