86 Your Resolutions & Start 2023 off WRITE!

Writer: Rosey Denise Rosey Denise

What are your goals for 2023? Have your written any of them down? If your answer is NO, then why not? With everything going on in and around you- you don't really expect to remember everything by heart....Do You??

Do You READ or WRITE?

  • YES

  • NO

WRITING has numerous benefits including helping you to stay on task with your goals. Keeping a written record of what you want to do, is a way to hold yourself accountable to your own words. How many times have you said you were going to do something, and forgot about it?

Starting a consistent writing routine helps people of all backgrounds and ages including kids. Try using writing as a tool to discipline your children or to encourage a strong reading habit in youth. Instead of punishing them with spankings, or taking away one of their video games, have them write! Be creative in what you ask them to write and follow up with a discussion. Remember back in the day, when the teacher had misbehaved students write the same sentence a hundred times on the chalk board? There was a reason for that. Writing forces you to THINK about what you are doing or saying.

Writing also provides an opening for communication, that might not be made apparent otherwise. It isn't always easy to express yourself out loud, which is what makes writing is a great alternative. There is no limit to what or how you write. It doesn't have to be in a specific format....you can jot down notes, sentences, poems or just a few words within a card. The more you write, the more you will improve your writing, and discover its many benefits. All you need to get started is a paper and pen! Below are a few examples of the benefits of writing.

TEN BENEFITS OF WRITING
